As a child care provider, you are an influential early force who can help children learn healthy habits that will last a lifetime. Health Aware, a wellness event sponsored by Child Care Aware® of America, DC Child Care Connections, Maryland Family Resource Centers and Child Care Aware® of Virginia, will connect you with industry experts to develop high-quality healthy eating and physical activity programs for children in your care.

Health and wellness experts from Nemours, Let’s Move! Child Care, FoodSource and other organizations will be on hand to help make your child care program more Health Aware. The event is FREE, but you must register online by Friday, April 5, to secure your spot.

The expo features two 60-minute trainings led by Dr. Linda Carson, founder and CEO of Choosy Kids, LLC, a company devoted to developing healthy preferences early in life. Dr. Carson and her team of experts have trained thousands of early care and education programs in the principles of I am Moving, I am Learning, an obesity prevention initiative.

Learning to Move and Moving to Learn teaches children and providers how to be health heroes. Learn strategies and activities to energize your program – regardless of your budget -- and help you promote active learning and healthy habits.

Making Nutrition FUN! introduces entertaining, innovative approaches to integrating nutrition education and oral health behaviors into daily routines.

This FREE event includes:
