A well-trained child care workforce is needed to meet increasing demands, so Child Care Aware® of America is dedicated to supporting prospective and current child care providers.
Child Care Aware® of America is our nation’s leading voice for child care. We work with state and local Child Care Resource and Referral agencies (CCR&Rs) and other community partners to ensure that all families have access to quality, affordable child care. Stay up to date on all things related to child care and early education legislation through the Child Care Aware® of America Public Policy Blog, written by CCAoA’s public policy staff.
The policy library includes resources helpful to understanding the issues in an effort to provide background to strengthen advocacy efforts. Included in this section: the Child Care and Development Block Grant law, child care basic facts and figures, information related to the Military Child Care Act, recent policy reports, a “101” Guidebook on the basics about Congress and background “one-pagers” on child care related issues, and links to state licensing data tables.
Capitol Connection is a monthly e-newsletter that includes information about pending legislation in Congress related to early education and child care. In addition, any related information from Federal agencies is relayed through this newsletter. If you would like to receive Capitol Connection, sign up here.
This annual report uses federal and national data and information from state Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) agencies and other state agencies to look at: Family characteristics related to the need for child care, the use of child care, the supply of child care, the cost of child care, the child care workforce, and services provided by CCR&Rs.
